1929 Sunny Sicilian folk scene featuring a farm with an open gate overlooking an ancient temple. Two men converse next to a donkey while a third leans over a large well. The figures are surrounded by hens and their chicks. The painting is titled Girgenti and depicts the town of Agrigento on the southern coast of Sicily.

Carl Budtz Møller (Danish, 1882-1953). Oil on canvas presented in gilt frame. 

Møller was known for his sunlight landscapes and figure scenes from southern Europe. He produced a large number of Italian folk scenes such as this one. The Bornholm Art Museum houses three paintings by the artist.
