Vintique Stainless Bridge: Vintage Spec

Have you ever had your favorite Telecaster's bridge plate corrode, or the chrome plating peel? How about your bridge saddle height adjustment screws fill with dirt and rust or cut your hand? Can't get your instrument intonated or to play in tune? What about you fingerpickers out there who break your nails on the lower flange of a stock bridge?

While we're not trying to re-invent the wheel regarding Tele-style bridge plate design, we are in fact improving upon some of the aforementioned weaknesses of Leo's original, while retaining all of the integrity and essence of his timeless design.

Other important design improvements are the notching of the lower flange for right hand picking clearance and the added mounting holes at the leading edge of the bridge to restrict unwanted oscillation and vibrations, virtually eliminating pickup feedback and squeal once associated with the early design.

Again, we choose stainless steel for the basis of the Vintique bridge. Stainless steel has a number of advantages over conventional Tele bridges.

Acoustic Energy: Sustain and output. First and foremost, this high-grade alloy has a superior ability to transfer string energy, vibration and sound to the body of the guitar more effectively. The result is more energy delivered into the body, and increased acoustic energy and incredible frequency response. The natural sound of the strings combined with the inherent tone of the particular wood gives the guitar more sustain, volume and definition. A point that is frequently overlooked with electric solid body guitars is: if it doesn't sound good unplugged, it is not going to perform to it's potential electronically.

Non-magnetic: Clarity. Our high grade stainless steel bridge plate is non-magnetic: it will not attract magnetic or stray signals from stage lighting, amplifier transformers and speakers, or radio interference. This becomes critical when using stock single coil pickups which sound great but are significantly compromised by these types of electromagnetic environments. Some controversy exists as to whether stock steel bridge plates could alter the sensitive flux field of a given pickup and possibly affect performance. If so, the adverse effects, if any, would be eliminated by our non-magnetic stainless bridge. The consensus is that all manufactures pickups sound better in a Vintique bridge!

The best test equipment is built right in your head; your ears tell the truth every time. Stock pickups seem to become more focused. That's what we love best about narrow-field sensing single coil pickups vs. the big wide humbuckers. Our customers report a brighter, clearer tone when using stock pickups with our bridge.

Construction: Quality. Our bridges are machine-formed and heli-arc welded. Then we individually grind and polish each to a fine finish on all surfaces.

Brass Saddles: Perfect Intonation. We also improved the intonation capability of our bridge with custom machined brass saddles that let you adjust individual string lengths while retaining a single saddle. If you like the tone of the great Tele pickers like Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan, you need a three-way bridge. Nothing matches the sustain and tone when the multiplied forces of two strings per saddle are applied. The final word is that our bridges intonate perfectly.

As in all Vintique products, hardware supplied with the bridge is of highly polished stainless steel... truly the finest "Tele" style bridges available anywhere.

Full rail, left handed or modified "B" bender versions are available on a custom order basis.
