"In 1983, Danny Gatton commissioned me to manufacture a modified version of the original Tele style knobs with a new twist. I had two special sets of knobs prototyped at the machine shop were I was employed doing precision heli-arc welding. One set went on Danny's famous '53 Tele and the other on my '52 Esquire. They were tall like the early Broadcaster style knobs, but had the heaviest knurl possible to allow professional players access for total command of their controls. Just listen to Roy Buchanan's haunting volume effects and Danny Gatton's steel guitar emulations and tone control wah-wah for perfect examples." - Jay Monterose
Vintique's ultra-custom Control Knobs combine the classic look of 1953 knobs with the taller configuration and knurl of Danny's original idea. The finest control knobs on Earth! for "Tele" style guitars. Machined from solid brass, then bright nickel plated. They match the look and texture of the rest of our stainless product line perfectly.
Our knobs are also absolutely killer on all Paul Reed Smith custom guitars, and G&L Tele's and Strat's. Our knobs are made for standard 1/4" solid shaft pots.
