Compensated Brass Saddles
Perfect Intonation and Tone. The concept behind our custom-machined Vintique Brass Saddles set was developed by Danny Gatton in the early '70's. It became apparent that the three-inline brass bridge saddle set on his 1952 Telecaster would not allow the instrument to intonate correctly. After many hours of experimentation, we discovered that a six individual saddle bridge arrangement would seriously degrade the overall sound quality. We also realized that multiplied forces of two strings per saddle, and the efficiency with which brass allow vibrations to be transferred to the bridgeplate, would be lost. We wanted to have our tone and intonate too!
Custom Screws. We're also tired of the stock "too long, too tall" adjustment screws that tend to jab holes in our pickin' hand. We remedied this ailment with custom tailored adjustment screw lengths. And, like so much of our hardware, our screws are stainless steel. Oil and sweat from the hands that have been long associated with malfunctioning guitar hardware will no longer plague your Tele! You will be making effortless, quick and accurate adjustments for the life of your saddles.

Vintique Breathes new life into your favorite Strat!
Vintique saddles are the "Killer" replacement saddles for all "Deluxe" Teles or Strat-style guitars (even with tremolos -- in fact, tremelos work better with our brass saddles with fewer string contact points and smoother over-the-barrel action). Get an unrivalled increase in sustain when installed on string through body hard-tail Strats.
We know Strats are suffering as sustain is lost due to the floating bridge design. The floating bridge has its own sound, but undoubtedly keeps the bridge assembly from making complete contact with the body. In addition, the materials used to manufacture some of the six-saddle sets are less than desirable for quality tone. These saddles have smaller height adjustment screws. (The smaller screws will not transfer vibration as effectively).
To compensate for these losses, we prescribe ordering a set of our custom Brass Saddles. The dynamic force of two strings per saddle, bearing down on the bridge plate through the larger diameter stainless steel height adjustment screws, will cure your maladies. And for good measure, the increased/better breakover angle created by the strings over the brass "barrel style " saddles will provide Biting Tone and Sick Sustain.
